Energy trading businesses rarely struggle with opportunity. They struggle with clarity. The economics may be strong, supply relationships may exist, and distribution channels may already be in motion, but unless the structure is presented correctly, investors see only volatility and risk.
This project involved developing a full investor presentation for a diesel fuel trading and logistics company sourcing EN590 from European refineries and distributing across North American and Mexican markets.

Translating operations into an investment story
The underlying business model was operationally sound: secure supply from European producers, transport via Texas ports, and distribute into markets with strong and consistent demand. However, raw operational detail does not automatically translate into investor confidence.
The presentation needed to answer, in a structured way:
- how supply is secured
- how margins are generated
- how logistics are controlled
- how risk is mitigated
- how investor capital is deployed and returned
The narrative was rebuilt around reliability and structure rather than opportunity alone.
Revenue clarity and structure
Energy trading decks often overemphasize market size and under-explain revenue mechanics. Here, revenue streams were broken down clearly:
- contracted bulk sales
- spot market transactions
- logistics and distribution fees
This allowed investors to understand not just potential revenue but how revenue actually flows through the business.
Risk mitigation as a central theme
Fuel trading inevitably raises questions around volatility, compliance, and supply disruption. Rather than treating risk as a small section, the deck positioned risk mitigation as a core strength:
- licensing and regulatory compliance
- established refinery relationships
- transportation infrastructure
- financial oversight and reporting
By addressing risk structurally, the deck moved the conversation from speculation to operational confidence.
Visual system
The visual language used high-contrast black and orange tones associated with energy and industrial sectors. Slides were built with strong typographic hierarchy and modular financial layouts to maintain clarity and seriousness. Decorative elements were minimized; clarity and credibility were prioritized.
Result
The final presentation functions as:
- investor fundraising deck
- partnership presentation
- operational overview for stakeholders
In energy trading, credibility comes from structure. The deck was designed to reflect that.
