NeuroLumin came to us with a mission—and a mountain to move.
Alzheimer’s affects over 55 million people worldwide. But the real bottleneck isn’t just the science. It’s the funding. Traditional research grants are slow, risk-averse, and heavily biased toward incremental ideas. Meanwhile, bold, transformative research goes underfunded.
Enter NeuroLumin: a new model inspired by the speed and transparency of Fast Grants, but tailored to Alzheimer’s research. They needed a pitch that would make people care—and act.

Our job was to build a high-stakes pitch deck from scratch. That meant:
Positioning NeuroLumin as a disruptive force in medical research
Designing a visual identity that felt credible and urgent
Telling a story that could land with philanthropists, scientists, and funders alike
All while breaking down a deeply complex system into a 15-slide, high-conviction narrative.
We started by reframing the problem.
Instead of leading with technical jargon, we opened with an emotional and societal hook: the real-world cost of slow innovation. From there, we introduced the “villain”—the outdated grant system—and positioned NeuroLumin as the antidote.
On the design front, we kept it minimal, bold, and serious. Dark navy and deep red created urgency. Custom iconography and medical imagery gave it authority.

A moonshot vision of what faster funding could unlock
The entire deck was built to be both boardroom credible and emotionally resonant.
The pitch has already been used to secure interest from research coalitions, high-net-worth donors, and innovation-focused philanthropists. It’s also serving as the narrative foundation for NeuroLumin’s ongoing comms strategy.
But more than that, it sparked something bigger: a new way to think about funding science in time to actually make a difference.
